A Museum  Rich in History

In a fabulous Location

The Pembroke Dock Museum Trust, is a Charitable organisation. The board of Directors and the Friends are all working for the Trust on a purely voluntary basis, to share their knowledge of the fascinating history of this very important historical town.

Opening Times

Pembroke Dock’s Gun Tower Museum

will not be opening for visitors from April.

Severe winter weather has taken a heavy toll on the

Victorian building which is suffering from

extensive water penetration.

Museum Trust directors and volunteer staff have,

very reluctantly, taken the decision

not to open at Easter for the season.

“We are working closely with

Pembrokeshire County Council, which owns the Tower,

to solve the problems and we are also taking

the opportunity to revamp the displays

and themes for when we re-open,”

said the Trust’s Martin Cavaney.

“It is ten years since we took over the Tower

as a museum and in that time we have attracted

nearly 60,000 visitors. We have to consider

especially the working conditions

and safety of staff and visitors.

Our enforced closure will be turned to our advantage

and we look forward to reopening

with a ‘new look’ before long.”

While the Gun Tower is not open the

town’s newest visitor attraction, the Flying Boat Centre,

very much is.

The Centre, located near South Pembrokeshire Hospital,

is open Tuesdays to Saturdays inclusive, 10 am - 4 pm.

Once the works have been completed

the Gun Tower Museum will reopen,

please revisit this site, or check local press.
